Brain Gym and Learning Exercises

The following exercises help the child a lot to reinforce and improve basic skills that he needs in order to be able to learn easier at school and to improve other skills that are needed for daily life. It helps for a better coordination, equilibration and the fine motorik. The attention, concentration, memory, orthography and understanding of text can improve and therefore the capacity to read, write, solving mathematic problems. It also improves the capacity to develop more self-esteem and self consciousness. And it can improve the physical coordination for sports and games.
In some cases it can be urgent to do them in order not to create learning problems because when we expect skills from the child they still don´t have we demand too much off them and they might create a mind program that stops them from learning like: “I am not good!”
With these basic games the child practices spacial orientation (left, right, up and down), recognizing shapes, the memory and the ability to concentrate. At the beginning try not to use the words “left” and “right” because a lot of kids can´t distinguish them. We don´t want to confuse the child, we want it to have success within. When the teacher is showing something to the children and is standing in front of them he is like a mirror. Also in that case the children should not think about left and right, because the left side of the teacher, is different then the left side of the pupil.
